Our Mission

To reduce loneliness and isolation among socially isolated seniors and disabled adults so they experience a higher level of safety, security, and well-being.  With the help of volunteers, our clients have an increased sense of value and collectively empower the community.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Friendly Visitor Program:  Weekly or monthly visits to homebound senior or disabled adult in order to reduce loneliness.
  • Phone-a-Friend Program:  Once a week call to a homebound senior or disabled adult in an effort to offer support, conversation, and companionship.
  • Administrative Assistance:  Aid in administrative office duties that support our volunteers in the field.
  • Volunteer Events:  Episodic single day volunteer events such as Serve Day, Annual Thanksgiving Meal Delivery Event, Letters to Troops, and other community projects.

Our Services:

  • Volunteer Coordinator recruits and provides training to volunteers and matches them to compatible clients.
  • Volunteer Coordinator recruits volunteers to help at various community events that provide assistance to disabled and frail older adults.
  • Traditional Annual Thanksgiving Meal Delivery Event where volunteers deliver a meal to seniors and disabled adults who have limited family and funds to celebrate the holiday.
  • Taxi coupons and bus tokens are provided through the FAME Assistance Corporation for seniors and disabled adults in the community who have no other means of transportation.

* Services are not available for SCAN Health Plan members.

** A member of the Faith in Action Network, until it was dissolved. We still embrace and support its mission of engaging community members to help disabled adults and homebound seniors enjoy a better quality of life and maintain their independence.
